Rain, Riddles, and Red Gloves: A Thrilling Arkham Horror Adventure
Embarking on an Arkham Horror game night, we tackled the Scarlet Keys expansion, with an exciting journey from London to Istanbul. Despite initial obstacles, we navigated locked doors, collected clues, and explored new game mechanics, all while pursuing the mysterious Man in the Red Gloves.
James, Scotty, and I recently began playing Arkham Horror The Card Game, featuring the Scarlet Keys expansion. This game has been on my wish list for a while. We're taking on the roles of Carlie Kane, Vincent Lee, and Darrell Simmons.
Upon arrival in London, we immediately ran into trouble. The person we were scheduled to meet was absent, leaving us stuck behind a locked door. Despite lacking the necessary strength or agility, we managed to break free, only to confront another locked door!
At this point, I was questioning the effectiveness of our decks. Nonetheless, we kept going, and Darrell Simmons proved skilled at gathering clues. From then on, our task was to collect clues, handle the mythos, and ignore certain enemies.
The new mechanism of enemies lurking in the shadows added an exciting twist to the gameplay, enhancing the fun and replayability factor. Overall, our first session was a success.
Afterward, we examined the map, choosing to venture next to Turkey to explore what's happening in Istanbul (or is it Constantinople?).
