Michael is a husband and father with over 25 years of experience as a full-stack Laravel developer working in higher education at Roanoke College. His passion for web development began in the late 1990s as a business manager at a food bank and pursuing a master's degree in Information Science. Since then, Michael has progressed from working with simple HTML to becoming a full-stack Laravel developer and manager with expertise in PHP, Laravel, and SQL.

At Roanoke College, Michael has managed and contributed to various web development projects, including website redesigns, CMS implementation, and enterprise intranet development. His roles and responsibilities include project management, budgeting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Michael is married to Jennifer, his wife of almost 30 years, who is a Market Director at the Girl Scouts. Together, they have a son named Mark, a Roanoke Catholic School senior. Michael enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies and interests in his free time. He has been a runner and hiker since high school and has run multiple races, including a marathon. He also enjoys hiking on the Appalachian Trail with his wife, Jennifer. He is an avid board gamer, running his gaming website where he blogs about gaming and hosts weekly game nights. He enjoys campaign-style games such as Arkham Horror, Frosthaven, and Marvel Champions.

Michael is also a sci-fi and fantasy enthusiast with a particular passion for the works of Frank Herbert, James S.A. Corey, and Brandon Sanderson. His favorite book is Dune by Frank Herbert, and his favorite series is The Expanse by James S.A. Corey.
