Michael is married to Jennifer, his wife of almost 30 years, who is a Market Director at the Girl Scouts. Together, they have a son named Mark, a Roanoke Catholic School senior. He has been a runner and hiker since high school and has run multiple races, including a marathon. He also enjoys hiking on the Appalachian Trail with his wife, Jennifer. He is an avid board gamer, running his gaming website where he blogs about gaming and hosts weekly game nights. He enjoys campaign-style games such as Arkham Horror, Frosthaven, and Marvel Champions.
Michael is also a sci-fi and fantasy enthusiast with a particular passion for the works of Frank Herbert, James S.A. Corey, and Brandon Sanderson. His favorite book is Dune by Frank Herbert, and his favorite series is The Expanse by James S.A. Corey.
